Test Centre Great Step Forward
Test centre ‘great step forward’
say National Flood Forum
The National Flood Forum (NFF) today welcomed the Environment Agency’s investment in a new flood defence test centre.
“This is exactly the initiative we have been seeking. It’s a great step forward and shows the Agency’s commitment to protect the public from badly engineered flood defence products, said Mary Dhonau, chief executive of the NFF.
“Every day we are asked for our advice from people anxious to protect their homes from the horrendous consequences of being flooded. This test centre will give people confidence that claims for a product have been properly checked.
“A Kite-mark gives people the proper assurance they are spending money wisely
“The investment further confirms that flood defence, on a large or small scale, is firmly on the national agenda. We will continue to press the government to make grants available to help victims of flooding,” Mary Dhonau added.
